DECCA Records vs London Records
Most of the Rolling Stones LP's in the 60's have been issued in UK and US, but with different sleeve pictures and different sets of songs on them, even though the title of the album itself was the same. A good example of this is Out Of Our Heads. This LP was issued in UK with different cover and different songs compared to the US version. Some of the LP's were "only" UK or "only US"
One reason for the big differences in the UK and US cataloge is the fact that Decca did not issue the same song twice. If a track was issued on a 7" single, then it did not appear on any LP with new material. Greatist Hits compilations naturally mixed songs from LP's and singles. But London Records did put most on the single tracks on LP records. Most of the UK EP single tracks did also end up on US LP's. A good example of this would be "Satisfaction". This classic was not issued on any LP in UK until it appeared on the compilation album Big Hits in 1966. In US, Satisfaction was available both as a 7" single and on Out Of Our Heads. By having this policy at London Records it also resulted in several LP's issued that did not have any relation to any UK made LP.
Here is the full 60's catalogue for UK and US releases
UK issue: Rolling Stones LK4605 US issue: Englands Newest Hitmakers PS375

The first UK and US LP's are almost the same. The cover picture is the same, the US version only have the band name and LP title added. "Mona / I Need You Baby" was only on the UK version and "Not Fade Away" was only on the US version. Rest of the songs are the same.

UK issue: Rolling Stones No2 LK4661
This UK LP was not issued in US. All but two songs from No2 can be found on the combination of the US 12x5 and NOW! "Grown Up Wrong" and "I Can't Be Satisfied" are not on the two US LP's

These two US issues are a mixture of songs from the UK No2 and UK / US 7" singles. On 12x5 London did use the same cover picture as on the UK Rolling Stones No2 LP.

Out Of Our Heads
UK Export issue LK4725
UK domestic issue LK4733 US issue LL3429

Thee are actually three different OOOH LP's. The UK made export LP had the same cover and the same songs as the US OOOH LP. But then the UK domestic OOOH was a different LP, both for the cover picture and the songs
|
UK export and US Version:
Mercy Mercy Hitch Hike The LAst Time That's How Strong My Love Is Good Times I'm All Right
Satisfaction Cry To Me The Under Assistant WCPM Play With Fire The Spider And The Fly One More Try

Talkin' Bout You Cry To Me Oh Baby (We Got A Good Thing Going) Heart Of Stone The Under Assistant WCPM I'm Free |
Only US issue: Decembers Children LL3451

Decembers Children was again a LP that had no connection to any UK LP. It was a collection of songs from the UK OOOH LP, UK 7" EP's and US singles. The LP was issued in US just to meet the big demand of Rolling Stones material and Christmas sales. There is one connection to the UK catalogue and that is the cover picture. The same picture as used on the UK only Out Of Our Heads is on this US issue
|
Decembers Children:
She Said Yeah Talkin' About You You Better Move On Look What You've Done The Singer Not The Song Route 66
Get Off Of My Cloud I'm Free As Tears Go By Gotta Get Away Blue Turns To Gray I'm Moving On |
Aftermath
UK issue: LK4786 US issue: LL3476

Aftermath was issued in both UK and US but with different pictures on the sleeve and different songs. Decca was still issuing only LP tracks and did not include any single tracks on LP’s. This resulted in that the current top selling single "Paint It, Black" was not included on the LP in UK. But London Records did put it on their release
The songs on the LP's did differ a lot. "Paint It Black" was not on the UK version but it opened the US LP. Missing from the US version: "Mothers Little Helper", "Out Of Time", "Take It Or Leave It" and "What To Do"
|
UK version:
Mothers Little Helper Stupid Girl Lady Jane Under My Thumb Doncha Bother Me Goin' Home

US version:

big hits (high tide and green grass)
UK issue: TXL101 US issue: NPS-1

Two different records again on both sides of the Atlantic. Only the title of the compilation album was the same. One detail to mention is that the picture on the back of the UK version is that same picture as on the front of the US version
The songs on the LP's did differ a lot. Included on the Decca LP only: "Have You Seen Your Mother", "Paint It, Black", "Lady Jane" and "Little Red Rooster". Included on the London LP only: "Tell Me", "Good Times, Bad Times" and "Play With Fire"
|
UK version:
Have You Seen Your Mother Paint It, Black It's All Over Now The Last Time Heart Of Stone Not Fade Away
Satisfaction Get Off Of My Cloud As Tears Go By 19th Nervous Breakdown Lady Jane Time Is On My Side Little Red Rooster |
US version:

19th Nervous Breakdown Heart Of Stone Get Off Of My Cloud Not Fade Away Good Times Bad Times Play With Fire |
UK issue: Have You Seen Your Mothe LIVE! LK4838
US issue: got LIVE if you want it PS493

The first Live LP’s had the same cover picture and the same tracks on it but the title of the LP's were different. Reason for this was the there already existed an EP in UK with the name "Got Live If You Want It". So in order not to confuse the two records, Decca had to give the LP another name. One more detail that can be mentioned is that the LP was not sold in UK during the 60's. It was only made for export to Scandinavia. It appeared in the record shops in England in the beginning of the 70's.
|
Tracks on both issues:
Under My Thumb Get Off Of My Cloud Lady Jane Not Fade Away I've Been Loving You Too Long Fortune Teller
The Last Time 19th Nervous Breakdown Time Is On My Side I'm Alright Have You Seen Your Mother Satisfaction |
Between The Buttons
UK issue: LK4852 US issue: LL3499

On this issue they managed to streamline it a bit. The cover and the title is the same, but the tracks are still different.
The tracks are a bit different as Decca still was sticking to the no singels tracks policy The Decca version has "Back Street Girl" and "Please Go Home" which are missing from the London record In US they put the two mega hits "Let's Spend The Night Together" and "Ruby Tuesday" on the tracklist
|
UK version:
Yesterdays Paper My Obsession Back Street Girl Connection She Smiled Sweetly Cool, Calm & Collected
All Sold Out Please Go Home Who's Been Sleeping Here? Complicated Miss Amanda Jones Something Happened To Me Yesterday |
US version:

Flowers
UK issue: LK4888 US issue: LL3509

The first issue were they managed to get everyting right. Title of the LP's, covers and tracks are all the same. Several of the tracks were already out in UK on Aftermath and Buttons but even though this LP was made in England, it was not sold there. It only went on export to the rest of Europe. It became available in UK in the beginning of the 70's.
|
Tracks on both issues:
Ruby Tuesday Have You Seen Your Mother, Baby Let's Spend The Night Together Lady Jane Out Of Time My Girl
Backstreet Girl Please Go Home Mother's Little Helper Take It Or Leave It Ride On, Baby Sittin' On A Fence |

Beggars Banquet
Let It Bleed

All three LP's were identical on both sides of the Atlantics, same songs, same covers and same LP names
Through The Past Darkly
UK issue: LK5019 US issue: NPS-3

The title and the cover were the same but the hits were not. Again London Records opted for a different track listing than Decca in UK
The Decca version had "You Better Move On", "We Love You" and "Sittin' On a Fence" but missing from the London record.
The London record again had "Paint It, Black" and "Have You Seen Your Mother Baby" that were not included in UK
